The Fleurista is a woman owned, made-to-order floral studio in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in bespoke arrangements for all of life’s moments.
Founded in 2021 by Chelsea Olayos, The Fleurista is rooted in artistry, intention, and community. Chelsea’s background as a fashion and accessories designer in New York City can be found in every detail of her work. Her approach combines a refined eye for color, texture, and composition with a deep appreciation for the emotional impact flowers can have.
The Fleurista was born in honor of her late husband, Jimmy Olayos Jr. Continuing Jimmy’s tradition of bringing home fresh flowers every Friday evening, The Fleurista’s Fresh Flower Friday subscription service continues that legacy, delivering handcrafted, market-fresh bouquets to homes across New York City.
Since opening its Bergen Street studio, The Fleurista has been celebrated in both digital and print publications for its thoughtful designs and meaningful approach. More importantly, it has become a trusted part of the local community, offering floral artistry for weddings, events, and everyday moments.

Hi! I’m Sophie! Fleurista has been my flower home since the summer of '23. My favorite thing about being a florist is creating seasonal bouquets tailored to each person’s taste. Everyone likes something different, and I love seeing people gravitate toward a particular texture or color. I’m a sucker for whatever’s in season, but if I had to choose, I’d say I love a bright Ranunculus or a moody Dahlia. You can find me at Fleurista on the weekends! If you're also tragically obsessed with carpenter pants, fake nails, and/or the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, come say hello!

My name’s Leah, and I’ve been building bouquets, beautifying weddings, and giggling withChelseaat The Fleurista for years now.Every flower brings its own pizzazz to the party, but I personally love Billy Buttons (also known as Billy Balls, Woolyheads, and/or Craspedia), Tulips (I’m Dutch, hi Dad), Bells of Ireland (I’m Irish, hi Mom) and truly giant Peonies. All of these blooms share equal space in my heart and to choose only one would be a crime. If you’re interested in banter, pop culture, and/or beautiful flowers, you can find me at The Fleurista on Sundays and sometimes Fridays.
